Document limits
Each plan includes document extractions per client at no extra cost: Standard includes 3, Tax Season includes 10, and Premium includes 15. If a client exceeds the limit, additional extractions are billed at $1.50 each.
Tip: Most clients need 2 to 3 documents (a W-2 and possibly a 1099 or two). Even on Standard, the limit covers the majority of typical intakes without any extra charges. Tax Season and Premium plans offer higher limits for clients with complex returns.
What gets extracted
When a client uploads a photo of a tax document, the AI uses vision technology to read and extract the relevant fields. For example, from a W-2, it extracts:
- Employer name and EIN
- Wages, tips, and other compensation
- Federal and state tax withheld
- Social Security and Medicare wages and tax
- State information
Note: Extraction accuracy depends on the quality of the uploaded photo. See Tips for Document Photos for guidance on getting the best results.
